Few questions - interview with thrash metal/crossover metal band from Italy - UNDERBALL

Few questions - interview with thrash metal/crossover metal band from Italy - UNDERBALL.

Ave, can you introduce your band to our readers? – When was it founded and what style of music do you play , etc.?

A shameful mix of Thrash, Hardcore & Hard Rock. All the band members came from different kind of music, so we try to mix up everithing we like, from Death Metal to Psychobilly, Doom, Stoner, Hardcore and so..line up: John Von Lover: vocals, Pekkia: guitar, Zorro: guitar, Motoreddu: Bass, El Carlo: drums.

Where and under what conditions were you recording the new album? Who was in charge of sound, production and mastering?

The album was recorded live in studio, exept for solos and lyrics. We recorded it at the Hombrelobo Studios in Rome. Just Two Days...Valerio did a great job!

How many copies were released and which medium was used for this new edition (CD, digital, vinyl, cassette)?

This is our firt ep so we realeased just 500 CDs, but we will press some new copies really soon! The response was really good from the people.

Who is the author of the lyrics and how were they created and about what do the lyrics deal with?

Our singer, John Von Lover (aka El Bandidto Maldido – Cockroaches, psycho billy band from Rome) write all the lyrics...lyrics are the worst part of our music. We talk about all the strange things that you can find in your life. We choose a topic and John build up the lyrics.

Who created the logo of the band, and who took care of the graphics and the website? What about you and social networks? Do you consider these things important?

Our Guitar Player Zorro is the mind behind all this. He own a graphic design studio (Snaps Design/Basthard Design). He works with is partner Francesco (singer of the band Southern Drinkstruction). We think that the image of the band is really important, expecialy for a stupid band like Underball...we try to put our attitude into all the graphic image of the band. All the stuff (logo, cover, cd, merchandise) is made to be funny but professional. Even if is a stupid idea!

Which label did you choose for releasing your album and why this label? Are you satisfied by how your label represents you and takés care about you?

Actually this is self-produced Ep, we are working for our first full-length and we hope to find a good label with this Ep “underball”

Which bands do you idolise and where do you get your inspiration?

As we said you before, we all came from different kind of music so the list of bands could be very long. Slayer, AC/DC, Asphyx, Chuck Berry, Gratefull Dead, Motorhead. We try to pick up anything from alla the band (music and even attitude) and mix up everything in our way.

Did you send your record to some Labels - which are the labels? How was the response?

No, we chose first to make gigs and send everything to webzine to let know the band to the audience. We are a “young” band so we want first to get in touch with people.

How many gigs have you played? Which type of gigs do you prefer, whether it's (clubs or festivals) and which of your performances would you consider as the best?

Uhm, around fifteen…our first was with “Today Is The Day” in Rome two years ago. Just a few kickass songs. We like more clubs ‘couse you can get closer to the audience, and this is important for us. John Von Lovers loves to “play” with people. We try to let the people be part of the show. One of the was in Rome, an hardcore mini festival in a club. That was amazing…we also had a jam with a tourist in vacation.

What about your plans for the future? What do you want to achieve with the band?

Oh, well…we just want to play as much as we can all around europe, spread the words and release our first full as soon as possible.

How and where can your fans contact you? Can you provide some contact information?

Of course. you can find us on facebook , sound clouds were you can find the full Ep and you can se some stuff even on youtube. We are working on a little website; soon it will be online.

Thanx for the interview.

Thank you very much. Take a listen to our Ep and let us know. Sweat hugs to everyone! CIAO!
